Rubik's Cube® Layer by layer solution overview

This method is a typical layer by layer with 2-look last layer (Jessica Fridrich). Algorithms are also provided to use the VH system (Lars Vandenbergh and Dan Harris) instead of pure Fridrich.

Step 0: Notations
This is a description of the notation used for Rubik's Cube® algorithms.
Step 1: Do a cross on the bottom layer
In this step, we make a cross (orient edges) on the bottom layer.
Step 2: Finish bottom and middle layer
During this step, we finish the bottom and middle layer.
Step 2: Finish bottom and middle layer, and orient last layer edges
During this step, we finish the bottom and middle layer, and orient last layer edges while inserting the last pair.
Step 3: Orient top layer edges and corners
In this step, we orient last layer edges and corners, or orient and permute last layer corners.
Step 3: Orient and permute top layer corners
In this step, we orient and permute last layer corners.
Step 4: Permute top layer edges and corners
During this step, we finish the top layer by permuting all edges and corners.
Step 4: Permute top layer edges
During this step, we finish the top layer by permuting all edges.
